New Trip

Well 2011 has been a pretty Dull Year for Trips for FVI.. however we are about to leave on a road trip to Vegas.. This time we are taking a Toyota Granvia Van 1996..

We will be taking the Most Direct Route:

We are going to Be down there for 5 days, then coming back.. Bring Brooks Brother MOrgan with us.. and my buddy Adam might be meeting us down there..

Well in 32 days i will be flying non stop to Toyko, for my first ever Adventure in Japan. My buddy Adam from Edmonton will be flying meeting me in Vancouver. and we will be traveling around..

Tickets for the flight were bought $980 CAD for a round trip. not to bad of a deal. Just bought my JR rail pass.. Which is only sold to tourists, and you can only buy it outside of Japan.. It was $500 however it will allow me to travel on most of the trains/transit that's available in japan..

I will be in Japan from 12th to the 27th of April.

I will be uploading Pics/info to this blog ever couple days..

Expect awesome and amazing things. Im super excited..

So we arrived in new jersy, and went to find the place we were staying, we couldn't get a hold of the guy renting the sublet to us. So we parked the van, and took a bus into new york city. It was everything I had thought tons of people crazy buildings, it was amazing. We met up with a friend of mine, that happened to be in new york at the same time. Hung out for awhile, then we went back to jersy, and tried to contact the place we were supposed to stay at... Couldn't get ahold of anyone, so screw it. And bid on a cheap hotel. Then went and slept. Next day, drove to the statue of liberty, then hopped the subway into the city, checked out ground zero, times square and central park. The next day, we left and hesded down to virginia beach, to see the large naval base that's there, saw some battleships, and went throughj a 3 mile long tunnel under the ocean. Then off to dc, we parked infront of the national achieve building, and walked around looking at the white house etc. Then we stopped at daytona beach, and went for a swim, the water was amazing..

We stopped at a truck stop 70 miles out of chicago, and crashed for the night.

Got up at around 6am, the trucked bathroom was pretty gross.... Gave the van a quick clean and then we were off...

Then came the fog.... Tons of it, very thick

Arrived in chicago, and went to a place called M henry s for breakfast, its highly recommended on yelp. Great food, but I tried something new.. Salad with some toast, poached egg, bacon, avocado and asparagus.
Then we went to the beach, and checked out the lake.. Never seen that much fresh water before. It was hot so I went for a swim..

Then drove through the city.. It was crazy awesome I have never seen any city that big before. Time was running out, we tried to find this amazing pizza place, however I mapped the wrong one. It was way out in the ghetto, very creepy area, crazy people all around. So we gave up, and just left on route to new york. Drove through indiana, ohio, and pennsyvalia.

Stopped to sleep 150 miles outside new york city.

We stopped driving at 12ish, brook had like 5 red bull, and was crashing. So we stopped about 100 miles away from mount rushmore at a truck stop.. Set up the bed in the back.. And crashed... Woke up at 6 and headed towards mount rushmore.. One the route thjere was a ton of crazy birds, we hit like 4 or so. When we got to the mountain, you had to pay (I don't think so) we pulled a u turn and went to a free location, and got some pics..

Then we hunted for a cell phone store, to see why att wasn't working, and discovered that they have fail coverage for like 3000 miles of the northern center states.

We drove another 4 hours and stopped for gas, brook happened to be checking some things under the hood, and a rad pressure hose, was broken, so we ghetto fixed that, and then we were off again. Basicly no cell connection, and in a van that could die at any moment. Hourever 9 hours laters we are still good. Van is running like a top, we are planning to stop at a rest stop 50 mile outside of chicago, and then go into the city tomorrow morning.

Got up at 5am. Tired but ready for a adventure that might top all I have had so far. Got into the van and picked up brook. We were all ready, first stop the border... US border guards were in a good mood, two questions and we had full access to the USA. Second stop brooks cuzins in Lyndon, we had an inverter sent there. Picked it up, and we were off. Stopped at McDonald's for breakfast.. Brook installed the inverter while I drove the first 6 hours. When we crossed the border into montana, we were surprised to find that there is no ATT signal, and my telus phone didn't work. So ne connection to the outside world.. Montana is a boring wasteland with nothing interesting to see or do. We stopped at a rest stop, and went to check out a river, however we were attacked by miquitoes. And we carried on driving throughjt the night. I'm writing this at 1030pm 3 hours away from mount rushmore.

Ross has bailed.. so its just brook and me going now.. we are leaving Friday the 30th.. at around 5am..

For a big 1500Watt inverter on the way..
the Van is running like a clock, and its going to be very comfortable..

Looks like Ross might be coming on the trip as well.. so 3 people makes the driving that much less for everyone, and the gas prices go down.. so its a win..

Well good news Blog readers, The Space gear Van has been found..

Thats the beast that is going to take 14,000Kms and spit it out..
From WA state, to New York, From Florida to Texas.. she will see all the Mighty USA has to offer.. We will get oil from the oil spill. and Sand on her tired from the Atlantic and the Pacific, and Gulf of Mexico of course.

Looks like there will be a 3rd FVI Road trip wandering coming, Ross. He has been a FVI help for a long time now. His new wife is letting him take an adventure with us. Which is good for use because the more people. the more spread out the driving can be, and the faster we can get from place to place.

FVI Crew update/info

Here is the status of FVI at this time
Projects that we are selling:
R32 Drift car, This build was going ok, however true Ben style we got bored of it, and decied to sell the engine, and then the tranny, and now we are selling the shell..

Evo 1 Rally car, this was going to be built up to be a rally car of amazing-ness.. however after some minor mechanic issues (New Timing belt, Water pump stuff like that) we decided to sell it.. So its currently for sale

R33 Build project, this is a damaged R33 what we own, and we are rebuilding into a solid Daily Driver for me. it will have some Lite mods, and be a good car to drive when i can drive my bike.

Have an Evo 3 sitting in Japan Right now waiting to come over to Canada. it will be legal in May.

And thats about it.. for now

So we got are tickets to barrett jackson car show... it was ok however not as good as last year so that was lame, but there was something better.. we were walking around out side at the cone track, and found out that we could drive brand new cars. Porsches, camaros, mustang gt. The porsche track was the best and we could drive them as hard as we wanted so we did........pics and video to come.... so today we are off to la and then fresno to stay at brooks cusins....

So sunday morning we were off.. Brook comes over at 4am, and we head to the border on 176th.. Its early and the border guard seems to be confused with the fact that we are driving to vegas.. however no issues we are off and in the US..
First stop some gas..

Then there was random scenery as we drove from state to state.

A couple of State lines.

Then after many many hours.. we are surprised with the wonderful blessing of snow.. What......

So we decided we didnt want to wait and would just go all the way to vegas without stopped.. So after 18 hours of Driving and about 2 hours of resting.. Vegas Came into view.. at 2am Monday morning.

we went to are hotel (Hooters) got the room, and pasted out.. Then the next morning.. the view from the room.

After a lot of walking, just cooled down with some slurrpies..

So then i got up close and personal with a hooters girl..

Then went to In and Out burger for dinner, Then went to the outlet mall.. Bought a bunch of cheap new clothes.. Sean Jon.. Ecko.. cause im a gangster.. Even good brook to buy some stuff.. then went to Frys electronics, and look through there cheap bins.. Ha Ha.. found a Computer motherboard for Dirt Cheap (I bought it not Brook)

Then went back home.. at around 8 we went out and brook wanted to try some slots.. after getting bored we when and looked for a $3 buy in Black Jack table.. Because we are cheap however there were all very full so brook went to the room, and i waited around.. finaly got in.. played blackjack for a good 5 hours.. had LOTs of free drinks.. lost $40 and went to Bed..

Today (Tuesday) we went to Circus Circus, and bought a all day all you can eat pass for $20... So we can come and go all day long and eat as much as we want,.. its a good deal really.. then went and played Arcades.. Then went and got a Tmoblie Sim card with Data so we have High speed Internet everywhere.. Cells phone plans are so cheap out there.. Love it..

Then to the Gun shop... Its full of every gun you can imagine.. and some you cant..

Got to shoot a M16, Brook shot some pistol.. It was good times

and that a full update..we are going to the hover Damn tomorrow.. and Barrettt Jackson on Thursday..

Today i made this Blogg.. Im not really much of blogger but WTH.. Life is short, and i want to documents my Travels Trips Etc..

On Sunday Oct 4th.. at around 4am.. Me and brook are leaving for a 2 week long Road trip..

We will be leaving Langley, Crossing the Border on 176th, And heading south.. Driving solid to arrive in Las Vegas Monday October 5th..

We are staying in Vegas From the 5th till the 9th.. Then we are heading to... Well i havent really planned that far ahead.. We might be hitting up mexico.. Arizonia.. Where ever we decide after Vegas..

We are going to be Traveling in a 1990 Toyota Celsior, This is a RHD Luxury Car that was built in Japan with all the power options you need. Over here in North America it was marketed as a Lexus LS400. This car has been a solid Ride for awhile now, and we have done all Mainenance to it.. Its running like a Charm..

We have installed a 500watt Inverter in the Trunk, and a Power Cable running into the cabin of the car.. This will provide A/C power for the Laptop, cell Phone Chargers, Camera Chargers.. ETC.. For Comfort we have removed the passenger side front seat.. So when Im not driving i can sit in the rear bench seat, turn on the massaging seats, and stretch out..

We will be hooking up to a T-Mobile Data plan, so we will have Wireless Internet at all points of the Trip.. as well as wireless in the Hotels im sure..

I will get some pics of the car in its current state before we go...
